Precious days of summer

As these beautiful, vibrant days of summer unfold, I rest in the preciousness of each day.

I often sit with or near Dorothy’s floral gardens, being with all their exquisite beauty, yet seeing how fleeting the blossoms are. The aroma, the colors, the textures, the shapes of each blossom and stem; the life each attracts, honeybees, wasps, hummingbirds.

While each may last for day upon day, then, they are gone.

While others take their place, there are moments I wish for those that are lost.

And as I contemplate this I realize how fleeting the entire season is.
Here, we are, past Lammas, mid August, well beyond summers peak, (though, in modern times we might call it the peak point of summer’s passing.)
I realize the preciousness of each day.
And, with a friend’s recent passing, these blossoms remind me of the preciousness of life itself.

This is something the teachings constantly remind me of as well, the preciousness of life.

Let us each contemplate, rest in this preciousness of life.

If we but could be in the tenderness of this moment more often, moment upon moment, day after day, how precious our life would be; how precious this world.
We could recognize not only the tenderness, but the miraculous nature and wonder of this life.
Just think of it, a seed and egg unite, and the cosmos has somehow encoded these two cells with the spiral and matrix of life, that unfolds to this day, through every cell, organ and tissue of your body.

They know what to do. You do not ask or tell them.

That cosmos has also seeded the principles of consciousness and life force that gives you the opportunity to be who you are, to thrive in this universe, upon this Earth, within this life.

The opportunity is here for each of us.

Seize it.
The choice is yours.

You have the power, indeed, ultimately, you have the responsibility.

The choice is yours.

Recognize the beauty of this life, the abundance of all you have, no matter what you think you lack; seize upon the moment. Each moment.

The opportunity to switch gears, to focus on the vibrant and uplifting qualities of life, versus the downtrodden.
Jump into that higher gear, that higher octave, that higher resonance and form, to recognize the extraordinary beauty and gift you are, and have, and all that you have to give others.

What is that? What is your greater purpose here?
And, here you are, a blossom, from seed, thriving today; and what of tomorrow?
Recognize how precious you are, how precious life is, each life, each moment; and what an extraordinary opportunity this is to thrive, to radiate, and to resonate in your goodness and beauty, to even shower it upon others. (Just by resonating in your own goodness, it shines into the world.)
Perhaps they see.
Perhaps they do not.

Perhaps they are blinded by the veils of their own illusions, or by their own bud that has not yet blossomed, or by their own disbelief, doubt, and confusion, and cannot see their own beauty and worth.

And, thus, cannot see yours.

This does not discount you.

Rest in your own goodness and beauty.

Share it with the world.

“And, if he clothes the lilies of the field that are here today, and cast into the fire tomorrow, will he not much moreso clothe you….”
